Last Call Enterprises:
Your Guide to the Vegas Night
by Rob Wiser
Las Vegas is the undisputed nightlife capital of the world. But the
sheer number of the options can be exasperating, and the new breed of
ultra-hip nightclubs and lounges are more exclusive than ever. "Inside
connections" are key in this town, but unless you're packing Donald
Trump's bankroll or P. Diddy's Rolodex, you and your pals might find
yourself being misled by cab drivers, standing in line forever, and
feeling burned when the new "hot" club you heard about turns out to be
Dullsville that night of the week.
Last Call Enterprises provides the answer. The
company was recently launched by a trio of entrepreneurs with long track
records in the service industry: Jeff Howard, Rey Gallegos, and Patrick
Warner. Between them, they've worked in and managed restaurants,
nightclubs, casinos, and even golf courses. "Guest service is our
passion. It's where we excel;' says Howard. "We decided it was time to
take that passion to a new level, and that's where Last Call Enterprises
was born."
It works like this: Call them up and explain what
kind of time you want to have, and how many guests will be in your
party. Maybe you're entertaining business clients, or taking a date out
on the town, or heading up a bachelor party. Whatever the case may be,
you want to be assured of a good time, and don't want to deal with the
hassles-and risks-of doing it all yourself.
You can tell Last Call exactly what you have in mind,
or you can let their experts come up with a customized itinerary.
They'll break it down, crunch the numbers, and tell you a cost per
person. This includes a vehicle of your choice-from standard limos to
outrageous "party buses" that would make Kid Rock weep with envy -
stocked with whatever drinks you desire. (Rather than owning a fleet of
vehicles, the company makes arrangements with local limo companies; this
way, they can provide virtually any type of transportation.)
You can talk it over with them and make adjustments
as necessary. Then, when it's time for the Big Night, you simply jump in
when your ride shows up. Cover charges, table reservations and even
gratuities have already been taken care of. You don't stand in line, you
don't have to worry about greasing palms with $20 bills, or pay any
"hidden charges." And when you're ready to move on to the next spot, no
need to hail a cab, your chariot awaits outside.
Those familiar with the VIP side of Vegas may already
be familiar with casino hosts, whose job is to make sure they get the
royal treatment-but also to keep them on the premises, lest they gamble
elsewhere. "It's a Catch-22;' is how Gallegos describes it. "You'll get
the best treatment possible (at that casino), but you're only going to
get it there."
Last Call, on the other hand, consider themselves
hosts to the entire city. "We're the ambassadors of fun." says Howard.
"Tell us what you want to do, and we'll make it happen."
The service is not limited to after-dark excursions.
Last Call will plan virtually any type of activity for you, from sky
diving to golf to bachelor parties (and a combination of all three, if
that's what you're into). "We're not aware of anything that we can't
handle;' says Howard. "We'd consider it a personal challenge for a guest
to make a request we couldn't fulfill. Our only limitations are
whatever's legal. Other than that, the sky's literally the limit."
